Ruth Ellison from DIAC will present on Accessibility. Accessibility is often one of the last things to be considered when developing a system. This can happen for many reasons, including the organisational context and general misconceptions about accessibility. We will be looking at a case study of the challenges and learnings of implementing accessibility in a Government organisation.
We follow a meet’n’greet/presentation/chat format, with the emphasis on information exchange at practitioner level. This is a great opportunity to talk with other IAs in Canberra, have a few drinks, and chat about work.

I can’t comment on the girl’s lunches, they never invite me to them any more (but I am potentially available for hen’s parties if the money is right!)
We deliberately don’t hold WSG and IA Cocktail Hour on the same day as there is some overlap in membership and we don’t want to take people away from work for too long - that said, if you are going to be in town anyhow some evening we can announce an out of session Cocktail Hour. We could have it in a bar somewhere or with enough notice I can see about getting the SMS boardroom (near the airport which is good if you’re flying in).
